Join us for a special night with the screening of Event Structure: Holistic Reading Room (2022) during HOOGTIJ #80. This 7-minute film by Grace Ndiritu, commissioned by Flat Time House and The Roberts Institute of Art, expands on the themes of The Compassionate Rebels, her current exhibition at Page Not Found.

Ndiritu’s work explores the intersections of protest, community, and spirituality, reflecting on past and present struggles through striking window installations, Protest Carpets, and participatory moments. Shot in artist John Latham’s former home, the film captures a collective reading and meditation on his 1981 essay Event Structure, which challenges rigid scientific frameworks in favour of time-based, recurring events.

During HOOGTIJ, you can visit 21 art locations across The Hague’s city centre—ranging from white cube galleries to underground spaces, from established art institutions to experimental performances and installations.

Kom naar een speciale avond met de vertoning van Event Structure: Holistic Reading Room (2022) tijdens HOOGTIJ #80. Deze 7 minuten durende film van Grace Ndiritu, gemaakt in opdracht van Flat Time House en The Roberts Institute of Art, borduurt voort op de thema’s van The Compassionate Rebels, haar huidige tentoonstelling bij Page Not Found.

Ndiritu’s werk verkent de raakvlakken van protest, gemeenschap en spiritualiteit, en reflecteert op vroegere en huidige strijd door middel van opvallende raaminstallaties, protesttapijten en participatieve momenten. De film is opgenomen in het voormalige huis van kunstenaar John Latham en toont een collectieve lezing van en meditatie op zijn essay Event Structure uit 1981, waarin hij starre wetenschappelijke kaders uitdaagt ten gunste van op tijd gebaseerde, terugkerende gebeurtenissen.

Tijdens HOOGTIJ kun je 21 kunstlocaties in het centrum van Den Haag bezoeken – van witte kubus galeries tot ondergrondse ruimtes, van gevestigde kunstinstellingen tot experimentele performances en installaties.
